Fast-forward 4 years. After dating 6 more men, and turning to my 'adopted older brother' for advice, he helped me get out of a bad situation, and I discovered we had more in common than I originally thought! We just celebrated 22 years of marriage.

My hubby and I worked for different human service agencies (I worked at a hotline and he worked at a runaway shelter) of the United Way. A chance encounter when he was picking up a chair from our hotline location (which is at a confidential location) led to a date and eventually to marriage. That was 25 years ago!
