Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt - Paper

Welcome to this weeks edition of Tuesday Tales. This is one of my works in progress. Enjoy! They sat around the medium sized mahogany table. In front of each of them were a binder, a pad of paper, a yellow highlight pen, a bottle of Perrier water and a white square dish. The center of the table had platters of fresh fruit and assorted breakfast pastries. The night before Robbie had brought her to see the lofts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn before driving out to his home in Long Island City. The moment Jill stepped foot into the cottage, she had already made her decision. After spending over twenty years in Los Angeles, she was ready for country living. His house was on at least seven acres of land.   Beyond his house, the in the ground pool and tennis courts was the cottage neatly tucked away behind the trees and shrubs. The rooms were over-sized, but it was the sun room with built in bookcases that sold her. She just hoped that she was making the right decisi...

Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt - Write

Welcome to this weeks Tuesday Tales to the Word Prompt - Write. This is a Contemporary Romance which is untitled. Thanks for stopping by. Robbie stepped out of the elevator first, holding his hand out to Jill. She slid her hand into his as he led her outside into the blast of cold air. Despite the ice cold weather, Jill forgot how beautiful Manhattan looked with a fresh layer of snow hanging off the trees. As a teen her parents had brought her to Rockefeller Center to go ice-skating.   She always loved the freedom she felt skating around, in and out of the crowds. “Are you up for a short walk?” he asked squeezing her hand. Jill lifted up her left foot and pointed at her Uggs boots.   “I am good to go.” “Perfect because I love walking around in…”he trailed off. “Are you going to tell me where you’re taking me?” “I’m going to share with you the one place that sooths my soul.” Jill had no idea where he was taking her.   Not that i...

Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt Smudge

Welcome to this week's edition of Tuesday Tales to the word prompt Smudge. This is a WIP and is untitled. Jill followed the blonde haired secretary into the long oval office. In the center of the room was a long table with only five chairs occupied.   Her eyes immediately scoped the room until her gaze met Robbie’s, who sat grinning at her. “Can I get you a cup of coffee, tea or a cold drink?” she asked. “No, thank you.” A tall young man dressed in jeans and shirt and tie, stood. “Come in Ms. Reed. Please take a seat next to Robbie. I’m Mr. Nelson. But you can call me Gary. We are informal here.” Jill shook his hand. “Please, call me Jill.” “I planned on.” Jill sat, turning her chair sideways so she could see everyone sitting at the table. As Gary introduced the producer, director and head writer, Jill made a mental note to remember each man’s name and title. In front of each of them were a binder, highlighter, pen and two ...

Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt - Candy

Welcome to this weeks edition of Tuesday Tales to the word prompt Candy. This is my untitled WIP. Just when Jill thought things were going well, things seemed to take a detour. The first thing going through her mind was that he hated what she had written. Jill slid onto the loveseat across from Robbie, crossed her legs and held her arms tightly to her chest. Robbie closed the top of her laptop and turned to face her.   “I’d like to talk about the episode you wrote.” “No good?” she asked, trying her best not to catch his gaze. “No, it isn’t good at all.   It’s great.” Jill’s heart continued to palpitate for a few more seconds. She touched her chest. “You’re kidding me?” “Not at all. I can’t believe how well you crafted the characters in the second episode. I think you opened up the door to a wonderful series. I especially like how you are developing the potential love interest and his infatuation with his overzealous next door n...

Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt Purple

Welcome to this weeks edition of Tuesday Tales to the word prompt Purple . My WIP is still untitled and is a first draft. After showering and making herself presentable, she called Robbie who had been waiting for her in the Starbucks in the far corner of the lobby. The night before Jill had stayed up reading the pilot. You didn’t like it, she loved it. The main character had a lot of potential. After reading the character sketch on her, Jill knew she could get deeper into the character’s internal layers making her a character that would stand out. This would be the first time Jill was involved in a project that had comedy elements entwined in its original genre of drama. She would have to watch how she addressed her comments to Robbie, not wanting to turn him off.   She hoped that he would like her comments and the extended character sketch she did on the main female character. As she came down the glass elevator, she spotted Robbie sitting in c...

Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt Save

Welcome to this week's edition of Tuesday Tales to the word prompt Save. This is a work in progress, still untitled and is a first draft. Jill stood at the window, with her arms folded against her chest looking out the window. She stood there for the longest time watching the planes take off and land. Taking a deep breath, she smiled in satisfaction. This was the first time in a long time she felt like she didn’t have the weight of the world on her back. It felt great to be back home, to her roots, where she was born and raised. New York, there was nothing like it. First thing in the morning, she would go across the street to the mini shopping center and get herself a couple of sweaters and a few more pairs of jeans. In California, she lived in shorts and dresses. The only time she needed to get dressed was when they had a meeting with the big bosses. Jill slid into her cotton nightgown; another thing to add to the list, flannel pajamas.  ...

Tuesday Tales – Cool

Welcome to this weeks Tuesday tales.  This week's word prompt is cool.                                              For a late summer night, the air was cool.   This was the time of year Pia hated most, when the temperature plummeted at night.   But somehow tonight the cool air didn’t seem to bother her.   They walked along the bridge holding hands, walking straight down the center of the path.   Whenever Lorenzo would try to lead her over to the side, she would gently tug on his hand pulling him back.   She didn’t want to tell him how much she feared the ocean.   How as a kid the undertow pulled her under water by the ocean’s edge. How that fear never left her and still haunts her every time she’s near water.   Bu...

Tuesday Tales - Book

Lorenzo led Pia out of the crowded restaurant. Pia was disappointed that they weren’t able to have a decent conversation between them. The place was packed, the music blasting and every time they started talking someone would stop by their table to say hello to him or a fan asking for an autograph. Hopefully on the ride home, they could talk and get to know each other better. The valet pulled his BMW up to the curb. Lorenzo opened the door, waited for her to put her seat belt on before closing it. Pia watched Lorenzo walk around the car and slid in next to her. He buckled up and turned the radio on. “I hope you had a halfway decent time tonight. I never expected the restaurant to get so crowded.” “That’s okay. I had a wonderful time.” “I know of this outdoor café in downtown Brooklyn. Would you like to grab a cappuccino?” “That would be nice. But I don’t want to keep you out too late if you have an afternoon game tomorrow.” “I’m good. Thanks for asking. Tomorrow we ar...

Tuesday Tales – Baseball

Welcome to this week's Tuesday Tales. This week I am starting a new story. I like to thank everyone who stopped by each and every week to read about Alexandra and Billy. I hope you enjoy my new story about Pia and Lorenzo. It had to be twenty-five years ago that Lorenzo Marcus stole her heart. Her passion had always been sports, with baseball being on top of the list. Pia Tallisico spent most of her teen years going to baseball games. No, she wasn’t a groupie. She didn’t wait in the sidelines for the players to come out, nor did she arrive at the games two hours early to sit and watch batting practice. What she did do was get herself a box on the first base side of the diamond one box up from the railing. One a hot summer night, Pia decided to go to the ballpark alone. Her partner in crime Lisa Caluco bailed out the last minute because she needed to watch her stepbrother. Pia ventured out a little earlier than usual. After making a stop at the bank and the gas station she...
