Hump Day Hook

Welcome to this week's Hump Day Hook.  This excerpt is from my WIP Mystical Wonders - Book 3 - The Right Call.

“It was.  I was the kid that every team wanted. Not to sound vain, but my quick success, put me on a fast road that I wasn’t ready for at all.”  Scott lifted his knife and cut his meat.  “I went from a half a season in the minor leagues right to the Penguins, where I’ve been their number one pitcher for the past twenty-six years.  But now, my future is in the hands of the upper brass, or shall I say me.”  Scott took a bite of his steak.  He lifted up his knife.  “Awesome.  Go ahead eat.”

  1. This is well done. I see so many authors just do an info dump with exposition. So much better to have it as dialogue, and this is succinct enough not to be a lecture.

Black Friday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Black Friday Blog Hop. I am not a Black Friday Shopper.  You ask why?  Because I was on the other side of the door. In my eyes, the main theme of all the Black Friday mayhem is love, getting the best deals to make our family, friends and love ones happy. Now you want to talk about love, I am giving away a copy your choice Roses or The Boardwalk . ...

Tuesday Tales – Picture Prompt Red Box

Welcome to our monthly picture prompt edition of Tuesday Tales.  With this being Valentine Day week, lets take a  look and see what our authors have put into their little red boxes.  Happy Valentine Day to everyone!                                       Lorenzo stood outside a jewelry shop on Rodeo Drive.   After this set of games in Los Angeles, there was a two game series in San Diego before he returned home.   He wanted to buy something special for Pia. Walking around the shop, he knew this feat would be a tough one.   He didn’t know her that long, and didn’t want to buy her something, which would make her feel uncomfortable. The first thing he looked at were a pair diamond earrings.   The pair he picked was gorgeous, but inappropriate being such an expensive...
