Tuesday Tales - Valentine's Day Prompt

Happy Valentine's Day.  This week we are writing to the above prompt.  For the first time in a very long time I will be celebrating Valentine's Day with my husband.  Love is a strong word and something no matter our age we can find and enjoy.   Lorenzo wanted the perfect Valentine’s Day celebration for Pia, but things didn’t go according to plan.   He made reservation at the Angelina’s by the water, reserved the table by the window with the fireplace in not far behind them.   In the morning, he had four dozen multicolored roses delivered to the restaurant. Snowflakes fell from the sky.   After surfing all the news channels, Lorenzo decided that he’d wait to see what happened as the day progressed. But as quick as the snow came down, it disappeared with the sun taking its place. At six thirty he pulled up in a white stretch limousine.   His Pia deserved only the best. He walked over to her front door with a bo...

I love the Spring.  After going through one of the roughest winters in years, it's a release to see the buds on the trees, and the flowers starting to bloom.  Most of my new projects are brainstormed during the spring months.  Spring to me is the resurrection of myself after a trying winter, especially this winter that kept me in the house.  What I love most about the Spring is Baseball Season.  I am a huge fan, especially the New York Mets.  As a teenager, I spent most of my free time with my best friend, Liz at Shea stadium. There's just something about the smell of freshly mowed grass with ...

MFRW Spring Fever Blog Hop

I am just loving Spring.  When I think of spring, I think of new beginning.  The trees and tulips coming back to life. What I love most about Spring is that my creative juices begin to flow.  It was when I packed my heavy sweat suit way, and walked along the boardwalk on one spring day, a few years ago, that I came up with the idea for The Boardwalk. Spring also brings along the scent of the ocean.  Call me crazy, but when I smell the salt from the ocean, and on a warm breezy day, taste the salt water on my tongue, I am ready to sit down and write. The Boardwalk Excerpt After an accident at work, Brooklyn DeMelli walks every day down at the boardwalk as a way to keep active and have a semi normal social life. She meets up with the regular morning walkers, while enjoying the beauty of the beach and the scent of the ocean. To keep busy she started her own company, making beaded jewelry for parties and flea markets. Mario Morales is the hipp...
Welcome to the 2014 Spring Fling Blog Hop.   The spring has always been one of my favorite seasons.  When the flowers bud, it means summer is right round the corner.  There are three things in my eyes that go with Spring... 1.  Roses.  In the spring they start out as buds.  By early summer they bud into gorgeous roses.  Now speaking of Roses...my debut novel. Here's a peak... Roses The sudden death of her husband sends Nikki Petrino into a tailspin. Three years later, she's still grieving. Mexico seems the perfect retreat to finish her novel.   Musician Drake Dente needs to get back on track and an excursion to Mexico to work on lyrics for his comeback CD is just what he needs.   Can two ships passing in the night bound for Mexico become the love they both need and want? Attraction sizzles and misunderstandings threaten. When Nikki goes missing can Drake find her before it's too late? 2. As March turns in...

Tuesday Tales - Finger

Tuesday Tales - Finger Billy slid the card back into the envelope. Within seconds, he stood at her side. Alexandra opened and closed her eyes. She seemed to be having a hard time keeping them open. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he waited until her eyes opened wide and her lips curled at the side. “How are you feeling?” Billy asked, resting his hand over hers. “I’m sure better than you look.” Alexandra stiffened her legs and let out a sigh. “I want to go home.” “I know you do. We just have to wait for the doctor to come in. I think he wants to keep you for another day or two,” Billy said, pushing the one strand of hair off her face. “Are you all right?” Alexandra asked, squeezing his hand. “Yes. But believe me, I would trade places with you any day. I hate to see you like this. You should have never gotten shot.” “I was protecting you,” she said, a smile appearing on her lips. Billy’s eyes bulged wide open, and he lifted both his hands and covered his face. Now ...

Tuesday Tales - Flowers

I'd like to thank all my readers who have stopped by to read about Billy and Alexandra's journey. Billy never left the hospital. He spent the evening in the small waiting room down the hall from Alexandra’s room. Leaving the hospital wasn’t an option. God forbid anything happened to Alexandra, he wanted to make certain he was only seconds away. All night long he couldn’t get Ralphie out of his mind. He knew the kind of man he was and what he was capable of. And when he found out that he ratted him out to the police…forget about it. Ralphie would make sure he paid for opening his mouth. But, if it meant protecting Alexandra, so be it. A hand touched his shoulder causing him to quickly stand. He turned and faced an elderly woman with a nametag, which read, Volunteer. “Mr. Davidson, why don’t you go down to the cafeteria and get yourself a cup of coffee and something to eat.” “I want to be close, just in case.” “You will be. Go ahead, get yourself something before the...
