Tuesday Tales - Valentine's Day Prompt

Happy Valentine's Day.  This week we are writing to the above prompt.  For the first time in a very long time I will be celebrating Valentine's Day with my husband.  Love is a strong word and something no matter our age we can find and enjoy.   Lorenzo wanted the perfect Valentine’s Day celebration for Pia, but things didn’t go according to plan.   He made reservation at the Angelina’s by the water, reserved the table by the window with the fireplace in not far behind them.   In the morning, he had four dozen multicolored roses delivered to the restaurant. Snowflakes fell from the sky.   After surfing all the news channels, Lorenzo decided that he’d wait to see what happened as the day progressed. But as quick as the snow came down, it disappeared with the sun taking its place. At six thirty he pulled up in a white stretch limousine.   His Pia deserved only the best. He walked over to her front door with a bo...

Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt Ring

Welcome to this weeks Tuesday Tales to the word prompt ring.  This is the continuing story of two middle-aged women starting their lives over again.  “I would feel so much better if he was cheating on me with another woman, but a man, how embarrassing.” “Listen, no one needs to know the truth but you and me.” “I know.   Now I have to figure out what to do.” “Settle things up here and come and spend some time with me.   I can use the company and you’ll have time to sort through things.” “Exactly.   That’s what I was just thinking.   I’ll stay with you for a few weeks, if that’s okay and while I’m there, I’ll look for an apartment.” “That would be wonderful, but you can’t run away from your problems here.   You have to rectify what your game plan is with Brian.” “I’m going to pour us a glass of wine and meet you at your house. I just saw the moving van pull up,” she announced. “Thanks, I’d love that.”   Erika ran down...

Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt - Ruthless

Welcome to Tuesday Tales.  I've been away for a while, but now I'm back.  This is an excerpt from my WIP From Me To You.  It's about two women who are going through divorces and starting over.  This is where I had left off where Sophia finds out who are husband is cheating her her with. “I took the walky-talky part of it and sat outside in the car around the corner listening to see if anything was taking place.   I did this for close to a week.   Just when I thought I imaged things and was going to throw out the monitor, something told me to check it out one last time.” Tears began filling Sophia’s eyes as she sat on the edge of her bed.   Erika grabbed a few tissues out of the box and handed them to her.   Erika broke down twice in a day was something she never expected.   Erika started to feel bad about moving away, not being able to be there for Sophia like she was for her, but there was no turning back. Sophia stopped cryi...

Tuesday Tales - Bottom

Welcome to this weeks Tuesday Tales to the word prompt bottom.  This is the continual story of my WIP From Me to You. “Please Sophia tell me what’s going on.” “Come on, follow me up to my bedroom. I will be better able to explain what’s going on.” Erika walked close behind and followed her into the bedroom.   Sophia stood in front of the walk-in closet, opened the door and walked in.   Erika leaned against the door and Sophia stood with the monitor in her hand. “You see, I planted it here.” She pointed to the floor, moved the shoebox to the side, and placed the monitor back on the floor.   “The plug is over here behind the shoe rack so there was no way he could see it. Besides,” she said waving her hands, “he never walks into my closet.” “Okay.   And I still don’t understand what the baby monitor has to do with anything.” “I took the walky-talky part of it and sat outside in the car around the corner listening to see if anything was tak...

Tuesday Tales Picture Prompt

The restaurant was vacant when he walked in.   Earlier he had called the Bayou asking if he could drop off a bag for later on that evening when he came back in with his girlfriend.   Reaching into the bag, he took out a wrapped box, and carefully placed it under the table in the back of the restaurant at a table near the lit fireplace. A few hours later, Suzie and Charlie arrived for their dinner reservation. When Charlie said they were going to the Bayou, she wore her black and ivory dress to the Mardi Gras theme restaurant.   The waitress led them to the table in the back.   Once they were seated Charlie ordered a bottle of Presecco.   Within minutes, the waitress was back and popped opened the Italian champagne.   From the moment the champagne touched her lips, she feel in love with the sweet bubbly taste. Suzie looked at the menu, which was handed open to her.   The first thing she spotted was a hummus appetizer.   When...

Stuff Your Kindle Blog Hop

In the spirit of the Holidays, we are giving you a chance to win free e-books to build the collection in your Kindle Library. I want to share with you the spirit of Christmas for me this year.  This spring I met an incredible man who swept me off my feet.  Every year once the kids got older I would put up a four foot Christmas Tree, but not this year.  The man I met in the spring is now my husband and this is our first Christmas together.  My four foot tree turned into our eight foot tree fully decorated. It's hard to believe that miracles do happen if you believe. So this holiday season, don't give up.  If you have a dream, live it and achieve it.  The same miracle came with my writing.  I've written since I was fourteen years old.  Through the next thirty years I had written books that were horrible, but after each book I continued to improve my craft.  When I got the acceptance letter for my debut novel Roses, that part of my life...

Wounded Warriors Project Blog Hop

Christmas is about family, tradition and memories.  Through the years I've kept up with my grandmother's tradition of making Christmas cookies, which I might add I love doing and sharing. This past year, after being a single parent for 17 years, I met the love of my life and got married three months later.  Now we are making our own traditions and box full of memories. For the first time in over ten years, I have taken out Christmas decoration, which were packed away with no future to be seen again, expect for being passed on to my kids. But not this year.  My husband John and I combined our Christmas decorations, decorated all three floors of our townhouse transporting our home into a winter wonderland. My four foot tree is fully decorated in the den and his eight foot tree is in my living room with a collaboration of both our ornaments making for the perfect tree. We bought new ornament and decoration to make our new memories to go with our new life to...

THE FREEDOM HOP

Welcome to The Freedom Hop.  This is a great way to thank all the service men who have dedicated their lives to serving our country.  I'd also want to recognize the police, fireman and EMS workers who work to help us every day. What better way to thank all the men and women who serve our country then honor this year the police who are out on the street every day keeping us safe. Leave a comment and your email address for a chance to win a copy of The Boardwalk.   Excerpt from THE BOARDWALK When she heard strains of guitar in the distance, her memories faded away. She hadn’t heard the music in days. Now that she finally had the time, she planned to find the musician who brought such sweet melodies to her ears. The music led her to the jungle gym by the bocce ball courts. A few days ago she heard the same Beatles song being played at the opposite end of the boardwalk at Midland Beach/Miller Field. She decided to investigate, walking the path under the tr...
