Tuesday Tales - Word Prompt - Track

Welcome to this weeks edition of Tuesday Tales. We are continuing with the story of Jill and Robbie.   That night, Jill lay in bed for the longest time not being able to fall asleep. She had come back to New York with a plan, which consisted of getting a job, finding a place to live and finally working on her memoir. But instead, the plane wasn’t even twenty minutes off the ground when she met Robbie, landing herself a job before she even got off the plane. She had to keep her life on track. Meeting Robbie derailed her original plan. Renting the cottage from Robbie made the transition to New York much smoother. But falling for him was the last thing on her list.                                                    ...

Tuesday Tales – Picture Prompt

Welcome to this week's Tuesday Tales.  This is from my WIP From Me To You. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support this past year.   I wish everyone and their family a happy and healthy holiday season full of love and happiness.                                               Erika sat on the window seat with a mug of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows floating on top. The view was spectacular, one right out of a Norman Rockwell picture, with snow topping all the Christmas trees surrounding her house. The sun had begun to set, despite being covered behind the clouds and fog. Every so often Erika would see snowflakes fall.   Looking out the window she watched Frankie struggling throug...

Black Friday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Black Friday Blog Hop. I am not a Black Friday Shopper.  You ask why?  Because I was on the other side of the door. I worked at Toys R Us for five years.  And I worked every Black Friday.  I would spend Thanksgiving with my family, and then rush home to try to get a few hours sleep before going to work at 3:30 AM in the morning. I'd get to work and fight with the crowds to get through the exit door into the store.  By 4:00 AM the customers are crushed against the front door, some their noses against the glass.  Electronics and the hottest dolls are on the top of everyone's list.  Despite the complete mayhem, I must admit it was one of favorite days of the year to work, along with Christmas Eve. In my eyes, the main theme of all the Black Friday mayhem is love, getting the best deals to make our family, friends and love ones happy. Now you want to talk about love, I am giving away a copy your choice Roses or The Boardwalk . ...

Tuesday Tales – Bridge

Welcome to this weeks Tuesday Tale. This week the word prompt is Bridge. Visit other awesome stories from a group of talented authors at: TUESDAY TALES . Pia followed Lorenzo out onto the promenade deck. The night had been perfect. This turned out to be quite the unique way to go out on a date. Now it was time to work off the deserts they ate. She hoped her sugar level hadn’t escalated too high. As soon as the warning signs started, she’d excuse herself and take her medicine. The last thing she wanted to reveal to a stranger her struggle with diabetes. It wasn’t necessary to reveal such a personal secret. “Thanks so much for desert. Everything tasted delicious.” “You’re welcome.” Lorenzo walked next to her, his arm touching hers. “I love this place. They make the best deserts ever.” “Especially the white chocolate covered strawberries. They were awesome.” Lorenzo smiled down at her, the moonlight shining in his eyes. “I want to show you something special.” Reach...

Welcome to this week's edition of Tuesday Tales. Don't forget to stop by and read the other awesome tales at: Tuesday Tales . I decided to do something a little different this time. I wanted to share a poem from: Reflections - A Collection of Love Poems. Twilight of Desire Lost in the twilight of desire, hidden behind an eclipse, but found on a summer day. Should there ever be a lonely day. I just close my eyes and think of you. A bond so thick it cannot be broken. A tender kiss, passion so real and full of life, it scares me to death. It’s a feeling so real you would kill for it. There’s a history between us, and I’m having the time of my life. My inner self has surfaced and the feelings inside me have erupted. The excitement from within me, grows stronger and stronger every day. Each time we unite as one, the passion gets better and better. When the lights go down, the moonlight shines in your eyes, I see the hunger in them for me. Come to me and reveal the truth of your i...

For other wonderful tales by a group of talented authors check out TUESDAY TALES . Alexandra waited until after they had their coffee and dessert before she asked Billy the questions, which kept going through her mind while she sat tied to the wooden chair in the café. What she couldn’t understand was why the doctor kept asking her where Billy hid the diamonds. He insisted that there had to be at least two dozen diamonds missing, which went back to Billy. She wanted the truth. “Why don’t we kick off our shoes and sit in the living room.” Alexandra grabbed her coffee mug off the table and sat down crossed leg on the couch. “I’d like to talk to you about what happened at the café.” Billy followe...

Tuesday Tales – Picture Prompt Limo/Airplane

Welcome to this weeks Tuesday Tales. This week, we're taking a different approach. We're using a picture prompt. Please take a few minutes to read the other delicious tales at: Tuesday Tales . My character Nikki Petrino from my debut novel Roses will stop by to give tell you her story. Nikki waited in the limousine for Drake. She couldn’t believe she was sitting in a black stretch limousine, a far cry from her old Toyota Corona, which just about ran. Drake dropped into her life eight years ago. When she went to Acapulco to start over again after the death of her husband, never did she expect to meet the love of her life on her first day there. Nikki grew up in a strict Italian Catholic household. Born in Brooklyn, she moved to Staten Island when she was a toddler. She had very little growing up and spent most of her free time at the family restaurant along with her brother, Rocco. It was her parents dream for Nikki and her brother to take over the family business. But Ni...

Tuesday Tales - Car

The police car pulled away from the front entrance of the emergency room. Billy took a deep breath, grateful that he wasn’t taken out of the hospital in handcuffs. Telling the police the whole story was imperative. No way he was going to risk anything happening to Alexandra. Billy knew Ralphie was behind the drive by shooting. Alexandra took the bullet meant for him. Protecting Alexandra had to be his top priority. The thought of anything happening to her because of his own stupidity would destroy him. He was willing to deal with the consequences. Sliding his hands into his back pockets he rocked on the heels of his boots. He knew he was playing with fire when he gave the police Ralphie name. There was no telling what he would do in retaliation. He had paid his debt to Ralphie ten times over. He would be damned if he left him ruin his life with Alexandra. Billy took a deep breath before pivoting on his boots and walked into the revolving door back into the hospital. He m...

Tuesday Tales - Airport

Alexandra went into surgery and Billy was escorted into the waiting area where the two officers were sitting, having a cup of coffee waiting for him. With everything going on, he had totally forgot about the interrogation squad waiting for him. Now he had all of thirty seconds to decide if it were the right thing to tell them about Ralphie and his past. This wasn’t part of the plan. As soon as the officer saw him walk in, they were on their feet. “Can you guys just give me a few minutes? I’d like to get a cup of coffee.” “No problem,” Gallo said. “It’s funny that you would ask for one, and I bought an extra one just a few minutes ago,” he said handing him a paper cup. Billy took it from him, and mumbled, “Thank you,” before slouching into the worn out beige leather seat. “We understand your situation, but we need to ask you a few questions about what happened outside your café earlier.” “I understand. I’ll tell you whatever you need, to catch the bastard who hurt my sweet A...

Tuesday Tales - Chest

You could hear the ambulance and police sirens in the distance. This wasn’t part of the plan. There was blood all over the place. It splattered all over the front door and all over both Alexandra and Billy. The ambulance pulled up first, with the two police cars following directly behind blocking the street. By now, there were dozens of people in the area making it hard for the police to put up the yellow crime scene tape. It took one officer to pull out a bullhorn asking everyone to step back, before they were able to secure the area. The EMT workers ran off the truck with a big black bag, which was bulging at the seams. The younger of the two men, knelt down in front of Billy. “Not me,” Billy said, tears in his eyes. “It’s Alexandra,” he said, cradling her in his arms, her head leaning against his chest. “I’m Gary, and I’m going to have to ask you to let us take care of her. You need to get up and let my partner Tommy, place her on the gurney.” “Baby, I’m here with you.” ...

Tuesday Tales - Night

Day turned into night as Billy and Alexandra spent most of the afternoon unpacking, washing and putting the ceramic plates, silverware and coffee mugs in its place. Alexandra was pleased in how everything looked. She had set three tables and they spent a great deal of time rearranging the rest of the tables, making certain to get the most out of the space. “Everything looks great,” Billy said, standing in the doorway holding a shopping bag. “I know.” Alexandra walked behind the coffee counter and pointed at the mirror. “I couldn’t help but drape the floral garland around it. Now watch.” Alexandra walked over to the far end of the counter and flicked the light switch on. “See,” she said, referring to the navy and pink lights. “I went crazy looking for them. What do you think?” “I really like it. I kind of thought that behind there still looked like a bar, but now with the garland and lights, you brought it down a few notches giving it a homey look.” “That was the exact rea...

Tuesday Tales - Dress

Billy played with the key in the lock. It was raining so hard that the umbrella Alexandra held over Billy’s head blew inside out. By the time Billy pushed the door open they were both soaking wet, and smelled like wet sponge. Billy turned the alarm off and switched on the lights. “Surprise!” Billy leaned over and scooped Alexandra into his arms and carried her in. Pivoting on the heels of his feet, he showed her the full view of the café before putting her down in the center of the room. “When did you have a chance to do this?” Alexandra asked walking around the room. “The floors are magnificent.” She knelt down on the floor and leaned over using the floor as a mirror. “I can see my reflection.” “I love your excitement. But don’t use it all just yet. I’ve been coming here working into the wee hours of the morning.” Billy took her hand and outlined her lips with his free hand. “You keep on amazing me each and every day. Whenever I begin to question our relationship, yo...

Tuesday Tales - Heart

With a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner behind them, Alexandra and Billy returned to Billy’s house to work on the menu. Billy opened his front door and Alexandra gasped when she walked in. Soft music played and in the living room was multiple bouquets of heart shaped balloons and about four dozen red, pink and white roses. “Billy, this is gorgeous.” Alexandra walked around the room looking at all the personalized writing on the balloons. “I’m amazed. You have made this the best Valentine’s Day ever for me.” “I just want you to know you mean the world to me.” He reached his hand out to her. “Come here. There’s still more.” Alexandra took his hand and he led her to the couch facing the fireplace. To the left of the fireplace was a huge easel covered by a black sheet. “What’s going on here?” “You’ll see in a few minutes. Just give me a few more minutes to set everything up,” he said, lighting the candles on the table and throwing a few more piece of wood into the fireplace...

Tuesday Tales - Love

Billy and Alexandra remained in each other’s arms under his black satin sheets. The smell of their lovemaking remained evident in the room, along with the smell of the meal Billy had cooked and they had yet to eat. Alexandra wanted to lay there all night with him. The warmth of Billy’s body felt good against hers. But the sound of Billy’s stomach growling caused him to stir. Kissing the top of her head he said, “I’m starving.” “I must admit, me too. I hope dinner isn’t ruined.” “Not at all.” Billy slid out of bed and put on his jeans. “I’ll be in the kitchen warming everything up. Take your time.” Alexandra freshened up. The only thing that she hadn’t taken with her was her black eyeliner. Most of her makeup had been wiped away during their lovemaking. For tonight, the natural look would be in. This time, she paid attention to the small details, which made the night so special. Earlier, she hadn’t noticed the centerpiece of fresh flowers and the cloth tablecloth and napkins ...
