Tuesday Tales – Baseball

Welcome to this week's Tuesday Tales. This week I am starting a new story. I like to thank everyone who stopped by each and every week to read about Alexandra and Billy. I hope you enjoy my new story about Pia and Lorenzo. It had to be twenty-five years ago that Lorenzo Marcus stole her heart. Her passion had always been sports, with baseball being on top of the list. Pia Tallisico spent most of her teen years going to baseball games. No, she wasn’t a groupie. She didn’t wait in the sidelines for the players to come out, nor did she arrive at the games two hours early to sit and watch batting practice. What she did do was get herself a box on the first base side of the diamond one box up from the railing. One a hot summer night, Pia decided to go to the ballpark alone. Her partner in crime Lisa Caluco bailed out the last minute because she needed to watch her stepbrother. Pia ventured out a little earlier than usual. After making a stop at the bank and the gas station she...

Tuesday Tales – Pie

Welcome to this weeks Tuesday Tales. I'd like to thank everyone who stops by to read the adventure of Billy and Alexandra. Don't forget to checkout the other great tales at: Tuesday Tales . I'd also like to take a few minutes to mourn the loss of Donna Summer and Robin Gibbs. They were icons in the music world, especially during the disco era. They will be missed terribly, but will forever remain in my heart, being a constant reminder of all the happy memories in my life. Billy got off the elevator with an extra large cup of coffee and a slice of key lime pie. He had arrived a little too late to the cafeteria to get some real food. A nice quarter-pound hamburger with cheese would definitely hit the spot, but he wasn’t going to leave the hospital. He walked into the tiny waiting room and sat on the chair facing Alexandra’s room. As he sipped his coffee, an eerie feeling came over him. Something wasn’t right. Billy walked into the corridor and walked to the nurse’s st...

Tuesday Tales - Flowers

I'd like to thank all my readers who have stopped by to read about Billy and Alexandra's journey. Billy never left the hospital. He spent the evening in the small waiting room down the hall from Alexandra’s room. Leaving the hospital wasn’t an option. God forbid anything happened to Alexandra, he wanted to make certain he was only seconds away. All night long he couldn’t get Ralphie out of his mind. He knew the kind of man he was and what he was capable of. And when he found out that he ratted him out to the police…forget about it. Ralphie would make sure he paid for opening his mouth. But, if it meant protecting Alexandra, so be it. A hand touched his shoulder causing him to quickly stand. He turned and faced an elderly woman with a nametag, which read, Volunteer. “Mr. Davidson, why don’t you go down to the cafeteria and get yourself a cup of coffee and something to eat.” “I want to be close, just in case.” “You will be. Go ahead, get yourself something before the...

Tuesday Tales - Car

The police car pulled away from the front entrance of the emergency room. Billy took a deep breath, grateful that he wasn’t taken out of the hospital in handcuffs. Telling the police the whole story was imperative. No way he was going to risk anything happening to Alexandra. Billy knew Ralphie was behind the drive by shooting. Alexandra took the bullet meant for him. Protecting Alexandra had to be his top priority. The thought of anything happening to her because of his own stupidity would destroy him. He was willing to deal with the consequences. Sliding his hands into his back pockets he rocked on the heels of his boots. He knew he was playing with fire when he gave the police Ralphie name. There was no telling what he would do in retaliation. He had paid his debt to Ralphie ten times over. He would be damned if he left him ruin his life with Alexandra. Billy took a deep breath before pivoting on his boots and walked into the revolving door back into the hospital. He m...

Tuesday Tales - Chest

You could hear the ambulance and police sirens in the distance. This wasn’t part of the plan. There was blood all over the place. It splattered all over the front door and all over both Alexandra and Billy. The ambulance pulled up first, with the two police cars following directly behind blocking the street. By now, there were dozens of people in the area making it hard for the police to put up the yellow crime scene tape. It took one officer to pull out a bullhorn asking everyone to step back, before they were able to secure the area. The EMT workers ran off the truck with a big black bag, which was bulging at the seams. The younger of the two men, knelt down in front of Billy. “Not me,” Billy said, tears in his eyes. “It’s Alexandra,” he said, cradling her in his arms, her head leaning against his chest. “I’m Gary, and I’m going to have to ask you to let us take care of her. You need to get up and let my partner Tommy, place her on the gurney.” “Baby, I’m here with you.” ...

Tuesday Tales - Night

Day turned into night as Billy and Alexandra spent most of the afternoon unpacking, washing and putting the ceramic plates, silverware and coffee mugs in its place. Alexandra was pleased in how everything looked. She had set three tables and they spent a great deal of time rearranging the rest of the tables, making certain to get the most out of the space. “Everything looks great,” Billy said, standing in the doorway holding a shopping bag. “I know.” Alexandra walked behind the coffee counter and pointed at the mirror. “I couldn’t help but drape the floral garland around it. Now watch.” Alexandra walked over to the far end of the counter and flicked the light switch on. “See,” she said, referring to the navy and pink lights. “I went crazy looking for them. What do you think?” “I really like it. I kind of thought that behind there still looked like a bar, but now with the garland and lights, you brought it down a few notches giving it a homey look.” “That was the exact rea...

Tuesday Tales - Sky

Over the course of the next few weeks, Billy an Alexandria continued to work on the interior of the café. The day the UPS driver brought in over two dozen boxes containing the dishes, glasses and different shaped coffee cups, reality set in that the café would be up and running soon. Billy spent the morning cleaning the freezers and refrigerator so they would be ready, while Alexandra worked on the bar turned coffee counter and strategically placed the glass cake and Danish holders on top. Alexandra surfed the internet for days until she found the ones she pictured in her mind, clear crystal with rose cutout, like the ones her grandmother had. She wound up finding them in a second hand store. Then while on a mini four day escape to Pennsylvania where along the way, they stopped at many antique stores, she filled in with the rest. “Coffee?” Alexandra called out to Billy in the kitchen. “Would love it. Give me a few.” Alexandra set up the machine and turned it on. Looking around the...

Tuesday Tales - Dress

Billy played with the key in the lock. It was raining so hard that the umbrella Alexandra held over Billy’s head blew inside out. By the time Billy pushed the door open they were both soaking wet, and smelled like wet sponge. Billy turned the alarm off and switched on the lights. “Surprise!” Billy leaned over and scooped Alexandra into his arms and carried her in. Pivoting on the heels of his feet, he showed her the full view of the café before putting her down in the center of the room. “When did you have a chance to do this?” Alexandra asked walking around the room. “The floors are magnificent.” She knelt down on the floor and leaned over using the floor as a mirror. “I can see my reflection.” “I love your excitement. But don’t use it all just yet. I’ve been coming here working into the wee hours of the morning.” Billy took her hand and outlined her lips with his free hand. “You keep on amazing me each and every day. Whenever I begin to question our relationship, yo...

Tuesday Tales - Cheating

Alexandra stood outside Dan’s front door. This was the last thing she expected to be doing. When she said goodbye to Dan two years ago, she had closed the door to that part of her life. In the beginning he was great, but the more she got to know him, the more she knew he wasn’t the one for her. The worst part came when she had to let him go from his job. No one had her job knew that they were dating, which was prohibited. What could he possibly want from her now? The night before she wanted to tell Billy about Dan. She had nothing to hide, but she felt that the past should stay in the past. No sense in bringing up something that had taken place so long ago. Besides, Billy had given her the best Valentine’s ever and she wasn’t going to let anything ruin it. Alexandra knocked on the door, anxious to get this visit over and done with. Dan opened the mahogany front door and looked at Alexandra with a smirk on his face. “I’m here. Wipe that smirk off you face and tell me what t...

Tuesday Tales - Love

Billy and Alexandra remained in each other’s arms under his black satin sheets. The smell of their lovemaking remained evident in the room, along with the smell of the meal Billy had cooked and they had yet to eat. Alexandra wanted to lay there all night with him. The warmth of Billy’s body felt good against hers. But the sound of Billy’s stomach growling caused him to stir. Kissing the top of her head he said, “I’m starving.” “I must admit, me too. I hope dinner isn’t ruined.” “Not at all.” Billy slid out of bed and put on his jeans. “I’ll be in the kitchen warming everything up. Take your time.” Alexandra freshened up. The only thing that she hadn’t taken with her was her black eyeliner. Most of her makeup had been wiped away during their lovemaking. For tonight, the natural look would be in. This time, she paid attention to the small details, which made the night so special. Earlier, she hadn’t noticed the centerpiece of fresh flowers and the cloth tablecloth and napkins ...

Tuesday Tales - Lies

Yes, their adventure began. Over the course of the next few weeks, Alexandra and Billy searched for possible locations for their business venture. Out on her own, Alexandra found a store front, which stood vacant between a hair salon and dry cleaners. From the outside, it looked like a shoe box, but inside there was over a hundred feet of open area. To the right stood a long mahogany bar and the kitchen was located in the back of the cafe. The highlight of the place, the selling point was the brick oven, in the basement that had been dormant for years. Excited with her find, she raced to Billy’s house, thrilled to see his black BMW sat in the driveway. She wanted to bring him to see the property. She had placed a thousand dollar binder down earlier to hold it. This was a rare find and she would be damned if she’d let it slip through her fingers. Ring…ring….ring Why wasn’t he answering the door? Quickly she tapped his number into her cell phone, not one, not twice but three...

Tuesday Tales - Wish

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year full of love and happiness. I also like to thank Jean Joachim for orchestrating Tuesday Tales for us every week. Don't forget to read the other awesome Tuesday Tales from a group of talented Author. Click Here. It took Alexandra a few days to assess Billy’s proposition on Christmas Eve. She had gotten lost in the moment and didn’t take the time to think about it before responding. When Billy left Christmas night, she second guessed her decision. Something didn’t add up. The one thing that bothered her was his reluctantly to talk much about his past. Billy never spoke about the restaurants that he worked as head chef for the past fifteen years. Mmm, let me see. Alexandra opened her Mac Book and went to Google, where she typed in Billy Davidson. Before hitting go, she tapped her foot on the oak floor. The past nine months had been flawless. Billy did everything perfect down to bringing her roses or a box o...

Tuesday Tales - Holiday

Alexandra tied the belt around her red and white fleece robe, the one Billy had waiting for her after making love. Billy had strategically planned out the day and didn’t miss a single thing. The matching robes added the finishing touches, leaving her hungry for more days like today. Billy must have added more legs to the fire while she slept. A green and red wool blanket with reindeers covered her naked body when she woke up. The smell of freshly baked scones took over the room. Before she called out to him, Billy appeared at her side two mugs of coffee, two small dishes and a basket full of scones and muffins on her grandmother’s metal tray, placing it down on the floor in front of the fire. The tray brought back so many memories of her grandmother who took it out every year at the Holidays. “Breakfast is now being served by the fire.” “I see.” Billy handed her a mug. A cinnamon stick replaced the spoon and whipped cream in the shape of a bell floated in the center of the m...

Tuesday Tales - Fire

Alexandra wiped the ice off her black and white ski pants. For the past hour, Billy and she had been ice-skating on the lake down the road from her house. Billy stole the show with his strategic skating steps, while she spent most of the time on her butt. She’d fall, Billy would pick her up, and then she’d skate a few feet before landing back on her butt again. The day was just perfect with the scent of snow heavily evident. Every time she took a deep breath, she’d exhale, seeing her breath. She hated the cold weather and seeing your breath, definitely wasn’t a good sign. It only meant that winter has arrived, with the snow to shortly follow. She fell again, this time right on her butt. This time she went hysterical. Looking across the pond, Billy skated, and when he saw her down, he skated across the pond. “I think it’s time to call it a day,” Billy said, helping her up one last time. “Yeah, I think you’re right.” Within minutes, she had her skates off and UGGS on. “I’d ...
