Tuesday Tales – Picture Prompt

Welcome to this week's Tuesday Tales.  This is from my WIP From Me To You.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support this past year.
I wish everyone and their family a happy and healthy holiday season full of love and happiness.

Erika sat on the window seat with a mug of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows floating on top. The view was spectacular, one right out of a Norman Rockwell picture, with snow topping all the Christmas trees surrounding her house.

The sun had begun to set, despite being covered behind the clouds and fog. Every so often Erika would see snowflakes fall.  Looking out the window she watched Frankie struggling through the knee-deep snow, walking back to the house with wood for the fireplace.

When Erika moved up to Pennsylvania two years ago, she never expected to meet someone who would captivate her heart.  Frankie waltzed into her life and turned her small business into a local hangout, and the place tourist going skiing stopped by.

Frankie walked in, stamped his feet on the mat and placed the wood on the rack.  “We’re going to be fine for the storm.  We have more than enough wood to last us a week.”

Walking into the kitchen, Erika heated up the homemade hot chocolate she had made while he gathered the wood from the woodshed he had made during the summer.  It took him four trips and over an hour to complete the chore.

Erika returned to the living room where Frankie sat in his socking feet and boxer shorts in front of the fireplace.

Frankie took the mug from her hands. “Come join me,” he patted the cushion next to him.  “Let me take your mug.”

Sitting down, Erika leaned into Frankie and he wrapped his arms round her shoulder.  “This is the perfect end to the day.”

“Yes.  And tomorrow will be even better.  It’s Christmas Eve.  I can’t wait for us to decorate the tree.”  Frankie kissed her.

“Neither can I.  Love you.”

“Love you more.”

Black Friday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Black Friday Blog Hop. I am not a Black Friday Shopper.  You ask why?  Because I was on the other side of the door. I worked at Toys R Us for five years.  And I worked every Black Friday.  I would spend Thanksgiving with my family, and then rush home to try to get a few hours sleep before going to work at 3:30 AM in the morning. I'd get to work and fight with the crowds to get through the exit door into the store.  By 4:00 AM the customers are crushed against the front door, some their noses against the glass.  Electronics and the hottest dolls are on the top of everyone's list.  Despite the complete mayhem, I must admit it was one of favorite days of the year to work, along with Christmas Eve. In my eyes, the main theme of all the Black Friday mayhem is love, getting the best deals to make our family, friends and love ones happy. Now you want to talk about love, I am giving away a copy your choice Roses or The Boardwalk . ...

Wounded Warriors Project Blog Hop

Christmas is about family, tradition and memories.  Through the years I've kept up with my grandmother's tradition of making Christmas cookies, which I might add I love doing and sharing. This past year, after being a single parent for 17 years, I met the love of my life and got married three months later.  Now we are making our own traditions and box full of memories. For the first time in over ten years, I have taken out Christmas decoration, which were packed away with no future to be seen again, expect for being passed on to my kids. But not this year.  My husband John and I combined our Christmas decorations, decorated all three floors of our townhouse transporting our home into a winter wonderland. My four foot tree is fully decorated in the den and his eight foot tree is in my living room with a collaboration of both our ornaments making for the perfect tree. We bought new ornament and decoration to make our new memories to go with our new life to...
