Tuesday Tales - Dress

Billy played with the key in the lock. It was raining so hard that the umbrella Alexandra held over Billy’s head blew inside out. By the time Billy pushed the door open they were both soaking wet, and smelled like wet sponge. Billy turned the alarm off and switched on the lights. “Surprise!” Billy leaned over and scooped Alexandra into his arms and carried her in. Pivoting on the heels of his feet, he showed her the full view of the café before putting her down in the center of the room. “When did you have a chance to do this?” Alexandra asked walking around the room. “The floors are magnificent.” She knelt down on the floor and leaned over using the floor as a mirror. “I can see my reflection.” “I love your excitement. But don’t use it all just yet. I’ve been coming here working into the wee hours of the morning.” Billy took her hand and outlined her lips with his free hand. “You keep on amazing me each and every day. Whenever I begin to question our relationship, yo...

Tuesday Tales - Cheating

Alexandra stood outside Dan’s front door. This was the last thing she expected to be doing. When she said goodbye to Dan two years ago, she had closed the door to that part of her life. In the beginning he was great, but the more she got to know him, the more she knew he wasn’t the one for her. The worst part came when she had to let him go from his job. No one had her job knew that they were dating, which was prohibited. What could he possibly want from her now? The night before she wanted to tell Billy about Dan. She had nothing to hide, but she felt that the past should stay in the past. No sense in bringing up something that had taken place so long ago. Besides, Billy had given her the best Valentine’s ever and she wasn’t going to let anything ruin it. Alexandra knocked on the door, anxious to get this visit over and done with. Dan opened the mahogany front door and looked at Alexandra with a smirk on his face. “I’m here. Wipe that smirk off you face and tell me what t...

Tuesday Tales - Heart

With a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner behind them, Alexandra and Billy returned to Billy’s house to work on the menu. Billy opened his front door and Alexandra gasped when she walked in. Soft music played and in the living room was multiple bouquets of heart shaped balloons and about four dozen red, pink and white roses. “Billy, this is gorgeous.” Alexandra walked around the room looking at all the personalized writing on the balloons. “I’m amazed. You have made this the best Valentine’s Day ever for me.” “I just want you to know you mean the world to me.” He reached his hand out to her. “Come here. There’s still more.” Alexandra took his hand and he led her to the couch facing the fireplace. To the left of the fireplace was a huge easel covered by a black sheet. “What’s going on here?” “You’ll see in a few minutes. Just give me a few more minutes to set everything up,” he said, lighting the candles on the table and throwing a few more piece of wood into the fireplace...

Best Friends All my life, I looked for that special man who will stop me in my tracks. That special man who will make my heart skip a beat, keep a permanent smile on my lips, and turn my tears of sadness into tears of joy. A lover who is also my best friend. Who’s there for me in my darkest moments and in my moments of glory. A lover whose hugs are a priceless gift, kisses which make me melt, and a simple touch that makes my eyes glow. That special man who listens, communicates, supports and accepts me for me. The most precious feature about that special someone is knowing that when I close my eyes, I’m wrapped in his arms, waking up beside him, and sharing tomorrow.

Tuesday Tales - Love

Billy and Alexandra remained in each other’s arms under his black satin sheets. The smell of their lovemaking remained evident in the room, along with the smell of the meal Billy had cooked and they had yet to eat. Alexandra wanted to lay there all night with him. The warmth of Billy’s body felt good against hers. But the sound of Billy’s stomach growling caused him to stir. Kissing the top of her head he said, “I’m starving.” “I must admit, me too. I hope dinner isn’t ruined.” “Not at all.” Billy slid out of bed and put on his jeans. “I’ll be in the kitchen warming everything up. Take your time.” Alexandra freshened up. The only thing that she hadn’t taken with her was her black eyeliner. Most of her makeup had been wiped away during their lovemaking. For tonight, the natural look would be in. This time, she paid attention to the small details, which made the night so special. Earlier, she hadn’t noticed the centerpiece of fresh flowers and the cloth tablecloth and napkins ...
