Tuesday Tales – Trees

Welcome to this weeks edition of Tuesday Tales. This weeks word prompt is tree. Check out the other awesome tales at: Tuesday's Tale.

Alexandra waited patiently for Billy to return. She wasn’t a fool. Something was going on that Billy was keeping from her. The minute he closed the front door, she was down the stairs looking for clues. Billy thought he was slick, but she read right through him.

Off in the corner he had placed his over night bag. Quickly, she riffled through the bag looking for a clue. And then she came across the card. She pulled it out of the envelope, and typed in bold print read: SOMEBODY’S WATCHING YOU.

“What’s this?” She held the card in her hand, turning it back and forth looking for something, a clue to where it came from.

Now this is great. How can I approach Billy and ask him what this is. I should have never been going through his things.

Alexandra placed it back where she found it. Well, she hoped she did. She wondered where Billy disappeared to. While she waited for Billy, she would think of how to question him without letting on that she was snooping. Thinking back to the hospital, it all seemed to make sense now on why he began acting weird, refusing to leave the hospital. Billy would have a lot of explaining to do.

In the meantime, she put up a pot of coffee and got dressed. The past few days she spent enough of time lying around in bed. She wasn’t taking no for an answer. Tomorrow morning she wanted to go back to the café. They spent enough of time away from it.

If he told her it was still a part of the crime scene, she didn’t care. She would cross the yellow tape. This café was their dream projects. The grand opening had to be soon. They’ve wasted too much time already, and she wasn’t taking no for an answer.

As she poured her coffee, she heard Billy’s car pull up. Placing her mug on the counter, she walked to the front door. When she opened the glass wooden front door, the car sped through the tree lined circular driveway.

“What the hell?” Alexandra screamed at the navy blue BMW.

Quickly she returned into the house and scribbled the last four numbers, 3642 of the license plate. Damn, she just couldn’t read the letter. What was going on? This was getting all too weird. Her driveway was private. No one other then the mailman, FedEx or Ups drove up her driveway.

Glancing at her watch, it had been close to an hour and a half since Billy left her, thinking she was sleeping. “Billy, where the hell are you?”

After the untimely death of her husband in the line of duty, Nikki Petrino still grieving three years later, goes on retreat to Mexico to finish her novel, where she meets musician Drake Dente a 90’s rock icon working on lyrics for his comeback CD.

After meeting at dinner, Drake and Nikki can’t keep their eyes off each other. Sparks fly and they instantly became an item. Upon returning to New York for Nikki’s high school reunion, she learns shocking events from her best friends.

After a misunderstanding, Nikki is missing and Drake is desperate to track her down.

Black Friday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Black Friday Blog Hop. I am not a Black Friday Shopper.  You ask why?  Because I was on the other side of the door. I worked at Toys R Us for five years.  And I worked every Black Friday.  I would spend Thanksgiving with my family, and then rush home to try to get a few hours sleep before going to work at 3:30 AM in the morning. I'd get to work and fight with the crowds to get through the exit door into the store.  By 4:00 AM the customers are crushed against the front door, some their noses against the glass.  Electronics and the hottest dolls are on the top of everyone's list.  Despite the complete mayhem, I must admit it was one of favorite days of the year to work, along with Christmas Eve. In my eyes, the main theme of all the Black Friday mayhem is love, getting the best deals to make our family, friends and love ones happy. Now you want to talk about love, I am giving away a copy your choice Roses or The Boardwalk . ...

Wounded Warriors Project Blog Hop

Christmas is about family, tradition and memories.  Through the years I've kept up with my grandmother's tradition of making Christmas cookies, which I might add I love doing and sharing. This past year, after being a single parent for 17 years, I met the love of my life and got married three months later.  Now we are making our own traditions and box full of memories. For the first time in over ten years, I have taken out Christmas decoration, which were packed away with no future to be seen again, expect for being passed on to my kids. But not this year.  My husband John and I combined our Christmas decorations, decorated all three floors of our townhouse transporting our home into a winter wonderland. My four foot tree is fully decorated in the den and his eight foot tree is in my living room with a collaboration of both our ornaments making for the perfect tree. We bought new ornament and decoration to make our new memories to go with our new life to...
